I'm out of here in a couple of minutes. I need to go grab my 1971 Dart Swinger from my old house.
I hope it doesn't rain.

Well I'm back. Took some time to get it up on the trailer using chains and chain hoist. Trying not to let it slip and run into the Road Runner. But it all worked out ok.
I'll get some pictures up of it in a little bit, it looks bad now, and it has been sitting at least 6 years. I have messed with it now and then, trying to fix the rust under the vinyl top.
I will probably move this post soon to the resto section.

Tire sits a little close to the front of the wheel well opening.
They are 235x75x15's that are off of the 76' Plymouth van I had a few years ago.
You can also see where the wheel well is starting to bubble on the top and back edge.

That's why I found it hard to part with it.
I destroyed the rear quarter when I snapped the lug nuts off, and the tire went out the back, and the brake drum went flying past me.

It even came with one of these funny steering wheels where the center is not for the horn. :jocolor:
One of the previous owners must have thought it was broke, and broke the center piece. :angry7:

I love tawney gold. Great color.
It is a cool color. It's so filthy right now, I don't know how you new it was tawny gold.
Do you remember this one?
Been sitting to long, but I had a place to hide it. Time to at least clean it up. I need something to work on besides the house.

Hey Mike,
I have had this car since mid 90's maybe earlier. Yes it has been to the track.
Me and my Dart went a best of 12.62 in the 1/4. With a total of around $2500 spent to do it. It was no where near being consistent, and would go flat on the top end. But it was fun. It was my first Big Block conversion. It was also a blast driving it around on the street. The left qp damage was when I was running 8" slick and the car finally hooked up with 22 psi in the tires, tore the wheel studs right off. any lower on the air pressure and it would just spin them.
Mistakes I made with it, I bought a GER valve body. first one locked gears in second, set it back and they fixed that, but it would take a year to go into 3rd. It fried bands in two or three tranny's. They wanted me to pay for it the second time.
I used the valve body that came in the tranny that I got from Adam, and no more problems.

First thing I need to do with the Dart is wash it down then I need to find a way to wiggle it into the garage.
I want to fix the sub frame connectors and weld them in.
I also want to move the springs in the 3" and do a mini tub on it.
I need to go get a welder soon if I'm going to do that.
It would be nice to do the interior with new, out of something else, seats. Possibly power, we'll see what I can find cheap. Then I will have to figure out how to match the rear seats to them.

Moving it into the garage is not going to be fun. I was doing some measurements. 16'3" long and 5'9" wide is going to cause some problems.
The Demon is already sitting in the garage up on jack stands waiting for me to get busy on the exhaust.
If I take the furnace and the hat water heater out, I should have enough room. I don't think the wife or kids would like it though.

This really helped me.
When can I come pick it up?
Something like that would help for storage, But I couldn't work in it very well.
It's also starting to get cold up here and I still have one more car to move here. Where I'm going to put that one is a mystery.
