Good place for thermal switch?

I have this plugged port on my radiator, is this a good spot to add a thermal switch for an aux cooling fan? I'm adding AC to my car and thought why not make the condenser fan also a cooling fan if needed.

That location will work AFTER the thermostat opens.

You may need to experiment with the setting.
 
The other problem with those "high holes" if if you lose some coolant and they get dry. They will not reliably sense. You get the same issue sometimes with the gauge sender in the manifold, say, you have a slow leak overnight, the engine can get pretty hot before the gauge/ light/ switch will sense

That is one point the Chevs when they put the sender in the side of the head, was a great idea
