99 Dodge Dakota, SLT, 4 Wheel Drive, with a 318 and automatic. 90318 miles.

My aunt bought it new but later got hooked on meth and blew her brains out in her bath room.

My brother got it from her estate but as you can imagine..... The ball joints went out, this started chewing up the front tires and to top it off he broke out part of the rear window when loading wood in the back. (My brother has the worst luck with rigs)

So the poor old Dodge sat out in his field for 5 years..... Last weekend I was at his house and he was talking about cutting off the bed and making a trailer out of it. I told him he was nuts and I wanted to buy it.

He said $600 and it yours.

1 battery and 8 hours of cleaning later (it had green growing all over it and the inside smells like mouse pee) it is running great.

I'm doing the upper ball joints today then it's off to body shop class where i will fix the rear window and pull out the dent in the drivers roor and rocker.

I can't believe how well it runs and the power...... The power blows the doors off my 3.0, 4Runner.

Pics are from today..... Date on the camera is wrong.

Nice, I had a 98 with a 3.9, If it were a 5.2 I would have kept it.

Sorry to hear that your brother got it the way he did! If you were my brother and I was going to cut it up for a trailer,I would have just given it to you (maybe a case of beer!)

Dude,

Six C notes is a score in anyones book. Keep it stock, or hot rod it...

I had a 2000 sport v8 4wd and the ball joints went on it prematurely so I had them replaced, sometime down the road there was a recall on them so I took it in to the dealer and they replaced them with updated ones then I submitted the original repair bill to Chrysler and they reimbursed me for most of the $$$

Excellent deal! It almost looks like a new truck.

Well, so far Im into it for an extra $400. The front suspension on these isn't the best design.

Replaced the 2 upper ball joints yesterday (both were totally wasted) and replaced the drivers side hub (bearing assembly). Things were so worn out that the wheel was rubbing on the upper ball joint.

The lower ball joints will be a much bigger job but at least the front tires are mostly straight up and down now instead of leaning way in at the top.

When we get some warm weather here in Oregon, I will be pulling the interior for a good steam cleaning.

Im still getting mouse turds flying out of the defroster vents......

Im excited about getting it into autobody class so I can start pulling the dents out and get the rear window replaced. I just hope they don't try talking me into painting the entire truck.

I just want to fix the drivers door and rocker, do a blend and call it good.

Cosmetic work is done on the old Dodge. With best return for my buck in mind..... I went 2-tone.

This allowed me to fix the huge dent in the drivers door, replace the rear window (used) and do some creative spray on bed liner and filler work on the rear tailgate.

Total cost...... Right around $300.

The truck looks far less beat up now. Gave it to the wife for her birthday.

(Now she wants it painted pink.)
