I can't remember, I will look tomorrow, I will be home putting the control arm on my oldest son's Valiant. Things are finally getting better here, had a rough patch where nothing would go right. Finally getting mobile again!

I'm still on the fence whether I really like doing this... From a profit standpoint and that's what this is I'm not sure my bottom number it's going to really make up for all the time.. I'm basically going to have 8 to 10 weeks of every minute of my spare time and to this truck.. Son of sees truck was stripped down in practically three days.. and when I stop selling Parts pretty close to what I would expect to get in profit from this truck.. and I parted this truck I was so many good parts I'm sure I would have made at least what I'm expecting or more.. it could be looked at as how many trucks I saved how do you put back on the road by selling all those parts.. anyways I'll get her all finished up and we'll see....

IF your buying to flip, fixing one or two items in two hours to "get her on the road to sell" would be ideal. When you end up doing floors, engines, blah blah blah, isn't long and your lucky to break even. Nobody wants to pay for your time (40+ hrs) when they buy. But I would appreciate it as a buyer. Exactly what attracted me to the van I just bought, every thing he did is what I was going to do. Saved me 200+ hrs at least with all the mods inside, install of mag engine, new tranny, rebuilding rear end.

I haven't figured out how the factory vacuum hoses should go? I circled the three open spots and I have one vacuum line coming out of the carburetor and just have it going to the vacuum advance on the distributor. But I have these other three spots to things up on the firewall and this one module that looks kind of heat Riser ish but it's not the heat riser for the carburetor? and the picture there's a line going from the heat Riser circle at the bottom right up to the top one above it but that I took back off... Anybody has any idea where all this should go I'd sure like to know....

pretty cool how I learned how to make those little circles on the pictures on my phone LOL...

yeah that's the problem really becomes and all the callers that have no appreciation for the work that's been done and try to talk it down like it was just a snap of the fingers which 99% of them can't do the work.. the blow it off and say yes and wires and plugs and no big deal... I just need to find someone who can appreciate the work that's been done to it.. and that takes a while sometimes.. that's why I'm prepared to drive it for a while..

Well, every mile you drive it you are putting some of that money and time back into your pocket. :)

So true, drive them... then sell when the time is right.
I drove my last old power wagon for 6 years, bought it for 800 sold it for 5000.
It still looked the same, but I did change the engine.
Had a co worker say you sold it for what you had in the engine, I said no, I drove it and got my money out of it. The old truck owed me nothing.

Enjoy it... If it takes 6 years and you get to enjoy every minute, it's all good!!! You said yourself you did it as if you were planning on keeping it. So keep it and love every minute. It's like a kid growing up, it's fun molding and shaping into a well behaved little being, but when the time comes to let them loose, either you did it right, or not, but it's hard to let go... Especially if done right.

I didn't buy the truck to keep it and I don't need yet another truck to keep on insurance besides the one I have. I don't like my daily driver to be a stick-shift that's why my truck is an automatic. I have absolutely zero need for this truck at all. If don't sell it I can't get on to the next one. It's purely here to make a profit no other ways about it. I will drive it for a while but I will eventually have to lower the price and get rid of it I just live in the city and don't need five vehicles around my house...

Ok, so what are you asking for it? No price, no sale.

it's not for sale for another few weeks at least it's not done yet. As matter of fact I haven't even put the tires and rims back on it still on jack stands LOL.. besides you know well as I do that if I put a price out here that it's going to turn this into a for sale thread and I don't want to do that... Also I don't have any way of receiving funds or anything or want to do any of that for long-distance sales I just want to sell it locally when the time comes... Thank you for asking though..

                        • Cannot tell from memory, and I don't have a book in front of me. BUT......
                        • Could be the carb isn't original and is missing some vacuum ports
                        • some of that may not run off the carb, but off the back side of the intake manifold. Many of those have 3 or 4 spouts including the power brake booster.
                        • Does the heat/def work off of vacuum? some of that could be for that... but I would guess that's all moved by cable..??

Do as you wish, but I wouldn't rule out somebody here on FABO being interested. I personally bought my '76 Duster off FABO, and it was about 2000 miles (southern part of AZ) from me. I transferred money to his bank account. There are ways.... just say'n

You can say what your are thinking you might sell it for without it becoming a for sale thread.

Also, FYI I can easily pay you and arrange long distance shipping IF I was wanting to buy it.

Never assume there is just one way. Close the other doors, and you only get limited options.

                            Just sayin’.

I'm listening to you and I remember your advice about selling it nationally as well.
I certainly wouldn't mind what it's worth kind of talk.. it would help but y'all have to realize that everything is thousand dollars Less in this price range at my end of the world and it would be the extra $1, 000 to get it to your end of the world...

You missed what I was saying. The buyer pays the shipping...not you. Your price is to just buy it, the rest is on them to get it home.

That makes it nice, if you are a grand cheaper in your area, then that offsets the grand they have to pay for shipping

Example. I bought my ‘69 GTS out on the Saint Louis area for $21k. I then paid another $1200 to have it shipped to me here in PA.

I got a great deal in total price and they got every bit of their asking price. We both ended up happy with the deal.

Would you be happy with a $7-8k sale price? Nationally, it’s realistic. Maybe more.
