Hang the Hood with engine hoist

With the Covid distancing, I didn't want to invite son-in-law over to help install the hood on my Challenger. Wife has a weak arm so needed a way to handle the weight. That Chally hood is lot heavier than the Duster. Anyway figured balance point for the hood and hung on engine hoist. That way wife could jack-up hoist and roll it in while I lifted and positioned the hinge end. Worked very well and easy to move. Have to find the lazy man way to do jobs.

That's not the lazy way, that's a super smart way. Less of a chance of chipping paint or scratching a fender.
 
I almost had to use same hoist to install cast intake on motor dang those things get heaver as you get older!
 
Did that with my F-150 front clip. Makes it a ton easier to swap engines.

That's exactly how I have installed a couple of Cast iron Big block ford intakes. I believe they are the heavyweight champ lol...
