all these guys putting 340-360 engines in early darts 63-64 and running under chassie headers. what header are they using ? pictures,part numder ,and brand of header would ne help full thanks
AFAIK, only to fit manual steering with a 904. 727s are too wide and need the collectors altered/spread, 883s may run into clutch linkage interference and need mods. Hedman makes a set of shorties for later As that will fit early As if you modify the #1 tube and collector- this also allows use of power steering. There's a thread covering the mods on here somewhere...
I have TTI in my 63 valiant with stroked 360. Not sure if valiant and dart have same header space issues. They are still a tight fit. Torsion bar runs through one of them. No power steering or power brakes but do have mini starter.
The shorties for "67 & up.. I BELIEVE #78500. There was a nice writeup about rerouting the #1 tube to merge with #5 and trimming the collector at the old #1- this not only let them fit the early As, but let it fit power steering, too. Pass side is a drop in. Thought I had it bookmarked, but can't find the thread now. Search turned up references to it, but not the original thread. I'll post the link if I can hunt it down.
