Wanted headers for 65 signot big block 383
I kinda hate to say this, but unless I've been missing something all these years, you're SOL with a big block early A. C body manifolds or build your own headers is about your only option. My best suggestion would be to get some early A (pre '67) LA headers, some big block flanges, and try to make them work. I'm sure someone will enlighten us both if I'm wrong.
Mazollini "Pro-Parts" semi fenderwell headers almost fit. Very close just need a few mods. Probably as close as drop ins come. #5 tube needs to be rerouted and the #8 tube needs to be sectioned out about 2 inches under the fenderwell, EZ as its still on the same plane. Just cut and weld. Steering clearance on the passenger side is the tricky part. YOU DEAD SET ON a B?
Forget it. Nobody makes um.
Talk to Matt 64 Valiant 440 build
You need to hack out the fenderwells and find fenderwell headers. That's the only good way.
Who said it was "good"? lol
Engine Size: 440, 413-426 wedge, World Alum block Fits: 1967-76 A-body, 62-74 B-body & 70-74 E-body, Raw (Bare Mild Steel) $1,131.00 Maybe? TTI not cheap though I don't know how much less room you have compared to the 67 A body but it doesn't look that much different
Never make it.
I was kinda hoping someone had set they made laying around in their way. Not giving up just yet
You see #5 and #7 tubes going straight down? There is a steering box RIGHT THERE on an early A. #4 and #6 down at the collector is where our idler arms are. Start fabbing! OR you may want to consider HI-Po logs from a Roadrunner, the common ones that go past the #7 port. They actually fit if you trim the steering column tube and shim motor over about 1/4 inch to the passenger side.
Thanks some else said they heard that trick but I haven't had a chance to look into it yet. Think I know where a set are buried under pile of parts maybe I can find them before I give up Thanks
Almost like it was made for 'em. These go for big bucks now for some reason. I got these for $60 a set at a show about 20 years ago, Had to grind off the casting numbers on the passenger side for them to fit. TIGHT! Ditch your power steering!
l d start out with new yorker manifolds that resemble magnum s power st out of the ? You can mill manifold s at an angle if needed 440 s fits worse local guy 63 dart had his built they hang a little low but work
Will start looking for a set of these. Hi HO Hi Ho on the hunt we go
