This'll be stupid to the electrical wizards on here. Headlight switch for the A bodies, specifically the new one I'm putting in my 73 Sport. What is the purpose of the brass male terminal riveted to the rear of the switch? Is the switch supposed to be grounded from here or something? Nothing was there on the original switch.

In some models a chassis ground wire was attached there. A ground wire is a good addition to any model.

^^The only reason the switch needs to be grounded is so the dash dimmer "twist to the left" can turn on the courtesy/ dome lamps^^
