Headliner install 1971 duster

After removing the old headliner, all 6 bow positions were marked and numbered. The painter was trying to help me out and painted over the bow position at each spot which has three possible holes for each bow. The bow ends are also colored differently. Does anyone know if the different color determines which hole that bow goes into.
