Heater fan Mod is it necessary?

Is it necessary to do the heater Fan mod To run a stock heater fan with a 383 with cast valve covers ( similar to Indys ) cast heads ? I need to be able to get the valve cover off but is it even a issue with the B motor ( low deck ) ?
I will do it if necessary but if not I’m going to reassemble it as stock. Please advise.

Was not an issue on my 71' Dart 383 with Mopar cast valve covers.
It's the driver's side you will never be able to get off in the car if you power brakes!

No power brakes - thx hope it’s good I’m going just leave it alone and put the heater core back in today !!
