A little late to the party this year but I just discovered a site dedicated to all the changes from the original releases.

Original Trilogy - Star Wars, Film Preservation, and Fan Edits

Most of the non "clean up of bad effects" changes have really bothered me for a looooong time.

I won't even get into how the increased amount of "silliness" and pandering in nearly every successive release has irritated me.

However, I just found this somewhat hidden jem posted below.

I wasn't aware of this until just now. Likely because we had a 1969 B&W TV until 1983 and the VHF tuner was burned out, leaving only ABC, PBS and an independent station. Pretty sure this was on CBS.

Anyway, apparently it's the first introduction of the Boba Fett character, which was tied to a marketing push for the toy action figure.
I do clearly remember most other kids seemingly having knowledge of Boba Fett (and the action figure) while I did not, until ESB came out.

Even if you only watch the first 3 minutes, you can see how potentially silly this is. I haven't seen it all the way through yet.
Really just watching it for the Boba Fett cartoon.

      OK, this is bizarre-

This is the channel I'd have watched it on if our TV had a working VHF tuner!!

The exact station in the same city.
