Hey guys! I’m hoping for some guidance and or direction, I’m thinking pictures might be very helpful for a novice like myself, in what parts I would need to setup for our refreshed fuel system setup, specifically related to the tank, filler neck and which grommets, gaskets and or other related components I might need for a safe and drivable setup.

when I got the car, pretty much everything in this category that was once rubber had long since rotted or been tampered with so I don’t even know what I’m missing or looking for, if that’s fair.

As of right now I’m ordering a new fuel tank, spectra, and a fuel sending unit… (we have the original filler neck)

What o-rings, grommets or other pieces do I need to find and order related to this part of the build?

We plan on using a mechanical fuel pump, if that makes any difference.

1965 Barracuda 273/V8 w/904 auto, 7-1/4 diff, 10” drums, any other information necessary?

Thanks guys and happy wrenching!

You’ll need the filler tube to tank seal available through numerous vendors. Source the foam gasket that seals the filler tube to the body at the gas cap If the tank/sending unit vendor includes the sending unit retaining ring, it might nit sesl (too thin), in which case locate an OEM ring. I’d use fuel injection-rated hose to connect the the main fuel line at both ends. You might need to replace the main line due rust or damage. That’s available from several vendors as is the line from the fuel pump to the carb. If CC I’ve missed anything fuel related, someone will add to this

good morning! a crisp -15 here this morning in the great white tundra... I did get a whole new fuel line (I forgot to mention that) from the tank to the engine bay, and I've got a shopping cart full at DMT, trunk floor seal, a tank to tube grommet, and tank pad insulation... also, i have the quarter panel body gasket (confused here though, in the service manual it shows 3 screw holes in the gasket, the one on DMT looks like a solid foam ring... advice?)

fuel injection rated hose at both ends? from fuel line to sending unit and from fuel line to mechanical fuel pump? am i understanding that correctly? is the line from the fuel pump to carb hardline or hose?

thanks!

It should have the 3 holes; if not you could use the filler tube as a pattern and make the holes

The only reason I recommend fyel injection-rated hose is due the ethanol in the gas does a slow number on regular fuel line hose
is the line from the fuel pump to carb hardline or hose?

thanks!
