Hello. I have an 833 4 speed that came out of another A-body car. I took pics of the numbers cast into it. Can anyone tell me exactly which year it is from, and maybe what gears it has and if it has a 307 or 308 bearing. I have no clue, and don't even know if those numbers will help.

What's on the machined pad in your first pic.

That will have the best info on it.

Bearings are the easy reply. They would be '307'. gears most likely are the 2.66.

I first looked at the extention housing casting number and recognized it as an A body and know that it is a 307 bearing. Made assumption on case. BUT I did a quick look at a another case in my basement, since I had to move it anyhow and it is the same case # as yours 99129, which is a 308 bearing case. Easy enough to determine, measure it. The 308 is 3.5" od.
The date on the stamp pad is the 4 digit after pp833 on the 10,000 day calendar.

So yours is likely a rebuilt unit where parts were mixed around, which shouldnt matter for function
