Thought I would search for this thread and see if it still existed.
Still have not found the original owner's family. I check fb Lost Muscle Cars weekly, and just because that page is cool, follow a hundred old car pic instagram accounts, I know I'd recognize it from back in the day if I saw it.
Got me thinking and looking through the pics we've taken over the last 7 years.
From the day we got it, first 4 pics, we have gone through multiple valve covers, carbs, intakes, air cleaners, wheel combos, tires, a few different engines, shifters, exhaust setups, trans, scoops, single carbs, dual carbs, bigger dual carbs, efi, etc. More than I can post here.
Through it all, it's been a driver, a real life drive anywhere anytime any weather all over driver.
Any chance, we drive it, and people smile.
We don't do car shows, nobody even cares to look at those events, and not spending the cash so club members can give each other trophies, but it's a celebrity at the market or parked on the curb, and that's just as good or better. We meet more genuine car people that way, and surprisingly, the majority are older women.
Anyone who has any information on this car from back in the day in the Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Chicagoland area, let me know.
I see a lot of musclecars 'found' in that general area, someone knows this car and the guy who walked into Netzley and ordered the 1967 Formula S 383 that I would have ordered the exact same way.

I remember the Superbird that they could not sell. Also, the auction they had when they moved out. Was unable to attend but heard from a friend that did a complete tail light assy. for 66-7 Charger sold for $100. Good luck with your search!

That's so cool. Never thought I would directly speak to someone that worked at a dealership that verified the Superbird 'de-nosed' myth/story, and had someone else corroborate it.

I had one very similar but console 4-speed with buckets. I don't recall seeing this one, I think I would have remembered it! Pic of mine before I sold it a couple years ago, it was a survivor with some paint work needed after an accident in the 70's...

Two GG1 383 4 speed 67 Barracuda Formula S cars from the same area with accident damage, go figure.

Just got back from Hot Rod Power Tour 2025.
Drove our 67 Barracuda practically the same route there and back to NY as we did when we trailered it home from Indiana in 2008.
Netzley Chrysler Plymouth was 45 minutes away from the Day 2 stop, Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Il.
Although the dealership was torn down, we still wanted to return to the place where it was ordered new.
We discovered an extremely nice area, one we would visit again if possible, not an empty lot or run down strip mall, which was nice.
On our car, the Scheduled Shipping Date was 5/31/1967.
According to the IBM buildcard the Actual Shipped Date was 5/26/1967.
We were there 6/10/2025.
18 days apart, so in theory, we could have returned to the exact spot where our car arrived at the dealership and/or was picked up by the new owner exactly 58 years later.
I would have ordered it the same exact way, and searched for this car for years.
Note: we couldn't locate the owner of the car next to the address sign, time was of the essence and had to move on.
