I'm looking for a trans that will work for the 67 GTS 383 Dart I'm building. I need to find out the date codes for these two BB 727's
First
part number is 2466900
numbers on the rail are H22538334 2862390
And is marked a 66

Second one
part munber is 2466900
number on the pan rail is G2538334 228385
And is mark 6? (can't read it)

And finally I have a SB 727 I think out of a 68 340 GTS Dart i need to verify
Part number is 2801260
number on the pan rail is K2892032J 2231 116
And is marked 67

Thanks for your time in helping me out.

I think your way off on the dates
first one has a 66 Date (Plus has the bolt in dipstick which is pre 67)
second a 65 Date (Plus has the bolt in dipstick which is pre 67)
third one is 68 GTS original 340 trans
But thanks for your time.

First 2 trans are:

Chrysler 1966 383
Dodge 1966 361 & 383
Plymouth 1966 361 & 383

Third trans

Barracuda 1968 340
Dart 1968 340

part number is 2466900

Y'sure about that? Where's that coming from?

numbers on the rail are H22538334 2862390

H2 does not decode.

2538 334: Transmission assembly, automatic, 1966 Belvedere/Coronet with 361 or 383 engine, 1966 Plymouth/Dodge with 383-2bbl or 4bbl engine, without high-speed governor, AFTER Trans. Ser. No. 2442724, Police service (A727B)

2862390 does not decode as a part number.

part munber is 2466900

Again, where is this coming from?

number on the pan rail is G2538334 228385

2538 334, see above.
228385 could be partial VIN or ??

Part number is 2801260

Mmmm...again, where's this coming from? All the automatic transmission assemblies in the '67 FPC start with 2801, but there's no 2801 260.

number on the pan rail is K2892032J 2231 116

2892 032: Transmission assembly, automatic, 1968 Barracuda + Dart w/340 engine (A727A)

2231: Made 6 September 1967

The 2466900 on the 2 BB trans is cast right on the side just above the shift linkage on the curved part of the case? But that makes sense, I thought these two were out of 2 BB 66 Polara's I once had.

The first two I have no listing for but the last one (2892032) is a 68 A body
318/340 - A727A

Probably the P/N (or C/N) of the trans case itself. The case is not called out in FPCs, but there are a lot of 2466 *** parts in PTC 21-03-0 (Transmission Case) in '66 and '67.

.........I cant find my book since ive moved into town, i do have a rebuilt 67-8 A body 383 HP tranny...................kim.............

Can someone decode my transmission please? 2466900, H2538334, 2749009. Thank you!

It's not showing on my list, but from the numbers it's probably from 1965. Since it's not on the list, I can't tell you what trans or engine family it came on.

Maybe double check the numbers and see if you misread one (they can sometimes be difficult to see/read)...

The tail shaft has 65 on it. 2466901. I believe it's a 65, but doesn't the code 2749009 mean the 9th one built April 27th 69?

It has the gasket type on the left. My 318 has the one on the right. I did recheck the numbers and they are correct. It looks like the mounting bolt holes are for my 383 motor with the measurements.

Pictures of transmission. 900-4 stamped on housing also
