Help me pick a color

Ok guys it going to be Burnt Orange Matlic

Does anyone know the paint code for the burnt orange matlic that is on the duster pic I posted.

Go Mango and Vitamin-C are the the same, coded EK2. They were 1970 colors only. Dodge was Go Mango and Plymouth was Vitamin-C. Omaha Orange was a 99 special order and didnt have a chrysler code. You can probably have a paint store look it up if they have the old books. Its the brightest of the Oranges. The newer Go Mango looks more like Burnt Orange to me. Dont know the code for it. Hemi Orange is Dodge and Tor-Red is Plymouth, coded EV2. That has more red in it. I personally like Go Mango/Vitamin-C, thats what I painted my Demon. Hope that helps.

ding ding ding... what Brad said. I have seen his car and the color just pops in the sun. The pic does no justice.

I have only seen Omaha Orange ONCE in real life.. If you want unique, go omaha

Anyone know the color of the concept Dodge Copperhead? That was a pretty cool color in the wheelhouse he was looking for.

Well know I am picking a color to paint the engine bay before I drop the Small block in.I will not be painting the car for awhile.

I know it is not an option on here but I like Lemon Twist Yellow.... I guess i have seen so many Orange and purple cars lately I am burned out on them.

If you want a different twist to orange you could always paint it butterscotch like the slow dart I have..

I would get you some single stage urethane in a quart of transtar and hardener they will match color to the Mango you want and spray that in the bay. Add some flake if you want or whatever. You dont need B/C in an engine bay and then you have a feel of the color on car if you do want clear for just get a can of diamond clear for bay. Thats what i would do. If you dont like it you can go over it and your only out a little bit verses alot of cash. If shes a winner do your door jambs, trunk, back of hood, and your part way there. Hope that helps. If you dont use transtar use shopline, omni, something in a lower price range then your main body paint.

Hey Fst73, the car was painted by a previous owner. I have talked with him in the past, but didn't ask where the paint came from.
It's a single stage paint that was sprayed about 6years ago and had the stripes put on shortly after.
When I pulled the stripes about a month ago, you could see that the car had faded a bit...almost a shade or two off. The next time around it will get a base/clear treatment.

Summit sells a color that looks similar to that, that is single stage and same name.

Cool cant wait to see it. Iam doing a rat rod style restoration on a car i just bought last week.. Iam painting engine bay B-5 incase i change my mind. Ill send ya some pics when iam done. Single stage urethane can be some of the greatest paint types and can be expensive or cheap. It can also be cleared over for more protection it also is has good UV protection. Once B/C has been breached its very vulnerable. Its the paint you use i have found more then the chem type. I have shot wonderfull stuff with less orange peel then factory with a 40$ purple harbor frieght gun then i have seen people with a 700$ gun. Its the injan not the bow most of the time. I use PPG and HOK on cars of mine and others and i have used cheaper paints. I think alot of its budget for most of us. My driver doesnt get 500$ gallon paint. To me cheap paint and good paint both chip fade. etc.. Its the prep work and primer that are key. But this argument has gone on longer then taste great and less feeling. Good luck 1973 Dusterkid.

I just need a qt cheap to paint the egnine bay. Then get some better paint to paint the body with.

But were can a get a cheap qt.
