Working on cleaning up our center console for our Duster. What Im looking for is the slide guides for the lid to the ashtray lid. Any body have an idea where to find them or what solutions have people used. One of them on ours was brittle and just fell apart .
I have been looking for them also. I can't find anyone that reproduces them. I ended up getting them used from a broken console.
I have made a replacement by tracing and cutting, utilizing a empty black oil container. Oops, I miss read what you are looking for. My aplogies.
I don't see anything on Layson's site but you could contact @Rick@Laysons here. I am thinking a hobby shop might have plastic chanel that would be similar. Classic Industries?
Exactly, some kind of plastic shaped onto a chanel. Put "3D" in the search and find out who here prints. Probably a half dozen members. With a couple photos and some dimensions they could run off some. Once the computer program/tool path is written it would be easy to run off another pair. Great idea.
I wont knock 3D printing of intricate odd shaped items. This simple a straight stick of nylon could be produced by anyone with a milling machine. Who I would contact? James at Detroit Muscle Technologies. If he can't reproduce this from a broken sample mailed to him, he will know where to get it done. There may not be much of a market for them today. If they are left and right hand specific he will want both samples. When one fails it would be wise to replace both anyway ( ever bought just one shoe? ). These too would probably retail in pairs.
