The cam button and one of AndyF’s sweet billet timing covers. Very well designed for rollers and cam buttons. and an aluminum water pump housing fits right over it.
If you’ve ever built a hemi then you gotta know how terrible the factory valve geometry is. So I had to move up to better rockers to correct the geometry problem with the factory rockers. So I went with the Stage V ones just seemed fitting since I had their heads. Problem solved!
I’m now working on valve covers and oh boy! It has been a real challenge so far. The repop covers are... well let’s just say the need some work. And you have the spark plug tube length to get right. So that’s where I’m at presently trying to make some valve covers work.
thanks guys this has been a long time dream of mine since 12 years old and I turned 50 the 10th of this month. I hope it turns out well.
Have looked a lot of old Hemi parts/engines for sale. Very expensive. Appreciate someone doing a good job building one right.
Beautiful work and a beautiful engine. Thanks for posting all of the pics, it gives us something to drool over! Yes, a gen 2 Hemi is on my bucket list...........
Nice, what cubic inch is it? What Stage v heads did Barton sell you? I'm in the early stages of building a 572 Hemi and gonna get the heads ordered next week. I am not sure who to purchase from, Barton or FHO.
Its a 496 the heads are the Stage V replacement heads with port job by Ray and stock size valves he did a killer job on them too!
Barton told me the replacement head was no longer available and wanted to sell me the custom stage v with stock valve. Any idea what the port size and flow numbers are?
