    Greetings from Macedonia, Ohio

It's good to be in the company of Mopar "A" body lovers.
I have a 1971 Demon, it was originally a 225 auto car but,
    I installed a 392 Hemi, 727, etc. I added a rack n pinion
steering system because of the size of the hemi. I drive it
at least once a week during the warm months.

    Thanks,
    Bruce Longenecker

man your website has alot of great information on it. the rack and pinion setup has been a topic on here as of late. handling for a bigblock a-body has also been a topic. great work. car turned out well. i take it you will be at the nats this year? if so i will try to see you up there.

It looks so innocent on the outside! Sneaky!
Have you run it at the track yet? Ohio has more dragstrips than any other state, so there's no excuse not to!

    Welcome, Bruce.

I didn't get to stick around after I finished working the gate at 42 Saturday. Did you win anything?

    Dave

Thanks for the welcome. The Demon can run high 11s with sticky tires, a little rocket fuel and a little tweaking. I don't take it to the track because I'm concerned about breaking something. The engine is a 1958 vintage. It's built mostly like a race car but I cruise it. When it comes to trophies, I don't usually do well at Mopar events but every place I go people love it. That old hemi ir really big, it's 1/2 inch wider than a 426 and about 10 inches wider than a 340. I have 3/16 inch clearance on the passenger side and 1 1/4 inch on the drivers side.

I don't plan to go to the nats, I've never won anything at one of those events. I enjoy being there but, I just don't think so this year.

    Dave, how have you been?

    Thanks,
    Bruce Longenecker

Cool looking car! Love the Hemi addition under the hood. It is just hard to beat the looks of a HEMI! Just something about them that looks "MEAN". I have been wanting to do a 33 or 34 plymouth rat rod with a 392 Hemi. A HEMI is just the best looking engine there is out there! VERY NICE CAR!

Nice looking car, I am glad to see that it runs hard. I have seen people put those older hemis in later cars before and they have been pigs. Good work! your car is actually faster than a blown 392 that I saw in a 68' Roadrunner some years back.

Hello Bruce, Can you tell me more about your Demon? I am installing a 392 w/727 in my 67 Barracuda FB. It was a race care for years w/ a big block 440 and a 727. It has no motor mounts as a block plate was used. What motor mounts did you use? What exhaust did you use? Which oil pan does your engine have? Do you have stock suspension and steering? What about your master cylinder are you using an angled adapter? Thanks John

Come to FABO. You may not get an answer. Bruce hasn't been online here since Feb 9 2012.
