I know I'm right....
This thing as awesome! As cheap as it is (16.99 with coupon, 19 without) it really worked for what I needed it to do. It oscillates at about 23000 ops, and you cant even see it moving as the stroke at the end of the blade is< 1/8 inch. You cant even see the center mounting bolt moving. Plunge cuts into Tongue and Groove roofing planks for a section repair? With the optional 3 3/8 half moon wood/metal blade ($9.00) I literally sunk it into the 3/4 plank from the top and let it cut down to the center of the joist I marked and guided it across 3 planks and a piece of flashing. Never skipped a beat. Did the other 3 planks 2 joists down and pulled the nails. Pried the center plank out (rotted from a basketball rim bracket) and the others followed with a light tap out of the grooves. Now the bi-metal blade is about 28tpi so its not real aggressive, took about a minute for each 6" plank but it was a very controlled cut. The blades are about as thick as a hacksaw blade so there is little dust and it is very easy to control. Not real loud either. You could do this with a Skil saw in about 10 seconds, but you would make a long score in the nearby planks. The plunge cut blade that comes with it is actually pretty cool. It will go right into the side of a 2X4 to the blade hilt in about 6 seconds. I used it to cut a piece of trim out of 2 inches of stucco without disturbing the stucco, I dont know what else would do that as quickly. This would be great for wood flooring repair and trimming baseboards and cut in boxes in plywood...So if anyone is out of gift ideas, check this out. It uses the same attachments as the Craftsman and other makes. Use the crap out of it for 90 days, if it survives, you are good to go. I think the 1 year protection plan is like +2.99. Comes with extra brushes too. Sure, some of their stuff sucks a$$ but this is pretty cool.
