HHR Fan thread

I've been checking out all the posts and online business about the GM HHR electric fan/shroud assembly working on the 22" Radiator and thinking this might be a way to kill two birds (no shroud, mech fan) with one stone. As far as I can tell, I'll need the fan assembly, the wiring harness, and a temperature sending relay to do this right. I have a brand new 45 amp alternator (273)and no extra accessories running off of it. Any other advice or gripes I should know about before getting down to it? Or any testimonials on how great this thing works? Thanks in advance,

Eric did a detailed write up on the HHR fan in the big block forum. Lots of pics too.
 
Yeah, I used the search option and got the same thing. I know there are a few posts here with HHR in the title too. Must be a ghost in the machine. Eric put the link in one of my posts, I'll find it and paste it here...
