Holes in slant six base gasket?

Does anyone know if the base gasket for a Holley 1945 carb on a 1974 Duster slant six is supposed to have holes in it that line up with holes in the base of the carb? Mine isn't idling too well, and the carb was recently removed and then reinstalled. I think he might have put the base gasket in upside down or backwards. Ideas? Thanks - cruiser

From what I can recall, yes there are holes that line up. It's real easy to take that Carb. off Cruiser only two nuts hold it on.
