I started rebuilding my 1920 and I noticed the float spring is missing. This is not the original carb, it was replaced about 25 years ago. The car hasn't run in 15 years. Did some come without the spring? Is it necessary or can I still drive without it?
that spring is not for calibration.
It is just there to help keep the float level stable on rough terrain.
On the street, with a tired old factory pump, if the engine idles decently smooth, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
