Hood Lock for a 70 swinger

hey everyone, i just got a beautiful 70 swinger and want to lock the hood, i don't want to drill the hood if i don't have to, does anyone know if i can use a Lokar hood release cable or the like, and use the stock hood latch or a hood latch from another, right now it has the external two handle system that pulls from the right side, is there a hood latch that opens from the left-drivers side?

i feel like i can make this work without drilling the hood and relocating the release to inside the car.

I've heard some do it with a chain and padlock

any insight is appreciated..

I did the chain and padlock for a few years on my 70 Dart, worked fine, just as long as you don't need to open it up really quick. If you can find an inside release from a 73 and up, it's a simple swap.

If memory serves, the latch mechanism is a bolt in, but it's been years since I did one.

hi, does anyone have a diagram of the hood release system of the 72 and up dart inside release, or a pic of your cars setup? i have a latch that has a roller wheel on the release lever, pretty sure i need the cable that has a loop on the end, but is there a bracket to hold the cable sheath that i am not seeing?
