I've been seeing hood release handle and cable assemblies for sale. Says they are for 70-76 Duster, Demon, Dart, etc. Like this...

My car is 1970 Duster. Has 2 release points, so I hope I can logically assume I don't need the cable type.

Can anyone confirm?

You don't need the cable type on a '70.

The cable pull release was on option on the later cars, so the hood couldn't be opened just from the front. Added security deal. It replaces the second lever you posted (the one not mounted to the hood). They can be added to the earlier cars by removing the lever mounted to the latch panel. The one mounted to the hood stays, so it makes it like most modern cars. Pull the interior level, hood pops up and is caught by the hood lever, release the hood lever at the front when you lift the hood fully.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the info. I'll be sticking with the 2 release levers I have.
