Hotchkis Front sway bar and caliper interference

That sway bay does look like the lowest hanging item in the front.
 
So it didn't attach to upper arms after all.
The factory sway bar was low hanging too. Their quite large triangle shaped forward mounts often have bolt ears broken off by curb bumpers.

I have never seen a sway bar that attached to the upper control arms,,,,
 
I haven't either. Confusion stems from your wording in beginning of this thread.
