How bad are BFGoodrich Radial T/A

-
Cooper Cobra/Mickey Thompson..........same tire.
Original BFG T/A has not been mfg for over 40 years.
Original T/A was not a steel belted radial . It had 2 folded Rayon belts equaling 6 plies under the tread, and was made in one specific plant. QC.
Michelin purchased BFG and Uniroyal both back in the 80's.
The T/A just became marketing. Using a Uniroyal steel radial carcass and a T/A tire mold.
Just looks like the original T/A but it is what was inside that made the difference.
I sold many, many of the original T/A Radial tires as part of the BFG T/A Certified tire team back in the 70-'s.

I didn’t know that was an option.
I didn’t like the look of them either!
I had shop.balance mine with weights on inside of rim. No vibrations at highway speeds and no ugly weights to look at.

Not a thing in the world wrong with static balancing if it's done correctly.
Better than dynamic if you ask me, if you can get the weights to stick. Like you said , "properly" Sometimes caliper clearance can be an issue.

Shop hammered the standard style lead weights on outer edge of inner rim.

I cannot STAND stick on weights. I always static balanced them on the inside lip using standard clip on weights. Works fine.

Guy who mounted balanced tires is a one man shop with a big garage with equipment in his back yard. And yes he did mention static balancing. Car has never been as smooth on the highway as it is now. And best part not a single blemish in the freshly painted body color wheels.
