I drive my 65 4spd 4 door Dart every day almost that I don't need 4X4 or a truck so today I started it up to go on a small parts run. In nutral it wanted to pull ahead and I do have ATF in the trans. At 7AM it was-7 deg here in N.,E. Pa. and as much as 10 deg colder to the North.:cussing:
GEORGE!!

DO you have a 4 door Dart 65 with 4 speed? Those are really rare. Is it a V8 or a slant 6?

Yep -8 here this AM and I see in northern NY it was -25F like wise in Vermont area. The furnace was on long cycles lol.

Yes, back when new there was somthing like a TSB from Mopar that in colder climate they recomended ATF for better shifting.
Interesting

ATF was the factory fill for a lot of years.

I was wrenching when that car was new, and had never heard of it. The first I heard of ATF in a gear case, was our 98 Durango transfer case. I am surprised by it going into something that old, and would be even more surprised if it holds up.

We (Spokane Washington area) are at a balmy 32* with a persistant rain.....
