I saw this on MSN.com today...

The most iconic hot dogs in America

...and wondered how many different ways FABO likes their hot dogs.

I gotta tell you, the 'Los Angeles' dog mentioned in the link...bacon wrapped and served with grilled peppers and onions...is a great dog!

Mustard Only,
Mustard and Onions,
Mustard and Kraut, or
Chili Cheese and Onions
And IMHO there should be a law against putting Ketchup on a hot dog if you are older than about 10.

Boiled to expansion. Cut in half lengthwise. Laid onto sliced cheddar with a dash of seasoning salt and only real butter on the bun.

When I was in the 9th grade (ancient times), I worked at the Dairy Queen a block away from my house. We sold hot dogs by the hundreds per day. Buns and "Weenies" (that's East Texan for weiner) were steamed in a special hopper called a "Steamro". Star - 35SSC - Classic Steamro Jr. Hot Dog Steamer | eTundra It turned out the perfectly cooked weenie and warm soft bun. We make them with yellow mustard, chopped onion, chili and the weenie. In 1963, we sold them for 15 cents. The buns and chili were so popular that we sold "dime hotdogs"....same as above, but with no weenie!:rofl::rofl:

We love our Sonoran dogs down here in southern AZ! Dog wrapped in bacon, seared on the griddle, then put in a Mexican bun called a bolillo roll. Beans, onion, tomato, mayo, mustard, green chili sauce. Usually served with a roasted pepper. Some places toast the buns with butter. Amazing!!!

Derwienerdog now sells their chili for $5 a can, woof.

I love me a natural casing dog served in a variety of combos. Any style is good !

My local hero many years ago was from NY living in SoCal, had a trailer/cart Sabrett and a long line. Retired Railroad and a milk route, did the Dog thing after early milk route and my estimate was knocking out $ 1000 to $ 1500 a day-5 hours. He sold the operation to a customer and opened a spot in a mall in Texas I believe. He could take order, make, wrap, stuff in bag-with Tootsie Pop for dessert, make change in about 45 seconds and converse. Sauteed onions and mustard or kraut and mustard. Chili was a no no as County gave him a bad time.

Try Pinks in SoCal if in the "hood. Who knows who you might see.

Mmmmh dogs, brats etc. !

right here ...see me I'm waving
On the grill, dark, footlongs or regular, mustard only for me or with Greek hot dog sauce (don't know how the Greeks got credit, but that's what they were called.). My brother would put everything on his and the thing would weigh four more ounces. Don't know if he could taste the dog. We have the best hot dogs on the planet (IMHO) :) :)

Sauerkraut and Yella mustard on a toasted bun.
If I have the extra sharp cheddar Tillamook I'll slice some up and put it along 1 side of the dog.
under the sauerkraut and mustard Yummy
