How far should the fan stick out of the shroud?

Factory 26" rad & shroud.
7 blade clutch fan (Factory for AC car is think)
I have 2" between the clutch and the radiator core. Is this (see picture) a good spot to run my fan? Can't really come out much, but I could space it in if it would be beneficial.

Usually 1/3 to 1/2 of the fan out of the shroud is best.
Yours looks close enough to not mess with.

The general rule of thumb is "half in, half out". Looks like you could move the fan towards the radiator a bit.

IF you have problems then maybe move towards radiator a little. Could very well be OK as is.

The fan must be 3/4" off the radiator, the shroud would be correct then...
