I will be putting in A.C. in my 66 /6 Valiant. I want to upgrade my Alt too. How many amp alt should I be using? Thanks for the help !!

I would not go more than maybe 50-55 without upgrading the bulkhead connector, and I would INSPECT all of it in any case.. Read this article, even if you don't do this mod, or do it differently, it explains the problem and why

Actually, an AC does not draw much more than a car without. Blower is about the same, and the clutch is only a few amps.

Be ware of too many amps on that factory ammeter wire and bulkhead connector.
One million amps....
I have a shop upgrade my alternators so they idle at 65 and cruise at 75. I also convert to a one wire. Agree with others who mention the bulkhead wiring. It’s $250 of insurance. Also, you can pull your cluster and check your amp meter connections to insure they are tight.
