Trans pan on my Allison need 18ft-lbs. I have a cheap clicker type torque wrench. It has 16 markings on the ring just above the handle..this tells me this will be 288in-pds.
Went to several different calculations sites...they are all saying there is 12in-lbs to 1ft-pd. which would make it 216in-pds.
So what say you folks?
I must be getting older, used to never torque damn near anything.

I say get a ft lb torque wrench. however a trans pan in my experience gets torqued to inch pounds. what size are the bolts? problem is if its a small bolt hitting it with too big of tools torque values may snap them off...

How to convert inch-pounds to foot-pounds
To convert inch-pounds to foot-pounds, take your inch-lb figure and divide it by 12. If you want to convert foot-pounds to inch-pounds, simply multiply your foot-lb figure by 12.
