Had the tires off the steel wheels and figured i’g Get them on a scale. I was surprised they weighed as much as they did. 25lbs. Guess that’s why guys go with aluminum.

Hyup just weigh a pair of 15x10steelies compared to a pair of aluminum slotwheels . Then run the steelies over speed bumps under power, compared to same speedbumps with the slots.
And that, friend, will make believer out of you.

I have recorded that one of my aluminum slots weighs 14 pounds.
I also recorded that;
a 295/50-15 BFG T/A street tire and aluminum slot, is Four pounds lighter than
a 325/50-15 BFG DragRadial on a 15x10 Wheel Vintiques steel Rally Wheel
What does that say about the heaviness of that 295 ,lol.
No other numbers were recorded

I pretty much have it figured that Aluminum wheels weigh 20 lbs lighter each than steel wheels.

That's 80 lbs of rotating mass that you have to spin up every time you take off with the steels, and got to slow it back down too when you want to slow down.

Can feel the difference driving them when you swap them out. Nice indirect peformance boost, better on gas and brakes too.

15x7 cop vs 15x10 RT slot

These 14 x 6s are very very heavy too. Bias tires on them too.
Should have weighed them.

Replaced them with the all aluminum Torq Trust II 15s, super light. Radial T/As on these, think they are lighter than the Bias too.

Yeah, should have weighed these too. Night and Day difference picking them up by hand.
