how much driveshaft end clearance?

63 dart rough high banked dirt track stock car. 904/7&1/4. measuring for a c to c dimention to have it cut/balanced. how much end play should I subtract? thank you for your time. RR

I'd verify with your driveline shop how they want the measurement. My local shop has me bottom out the slip yoke in the trans, then with the suspension loaded, measure center to center on the u-joints, then subtract .75"-1". I've always used 1" and they work out great.

That's the way I did my last one years ago. I will call em tho & go from there. 1" sounds good with all of the agitation that will be going on. Thank you! RR
