How to Dimple Metal

I cut up a worn out ball joint and welded the 2 parts to a u shaped piece of 1/8” flat stock. Keeps the ball and socket aligned. Had to weld the ball part and smooth it. 14 gauge without issue. Hammer press or vise works.

will def use this on my build, any solution for a door that closes perfectly, but pulls back out if you yank it slightly??

Sounds like you need to move your door striker out 1/16" so the door latch will fully latch when you close the door.
 
I made 2 sets from delrin, an industrial type plastic. It has held up well.
