I have a cam that was removed from my running 5.9 magnum last weekend. It's a Hughes SER1822ALN-10. Hydraulic roller 218/222 duration at .050, .539/.549 lift with 1.6 rockers. There is nothing wrong with this cam, I pulled it to upgrade to edelbrock heads and larger cam. I have the box but can't find the cam card, I'll keep looking for it. Cost $369 new, asking $300 plus shipping. Located in Oklahoma City

How did your 5.9 run with that cam? Were you using it with totally stock heads, or did you have to do some machining because of the high lift? I keep hearing stuff about interference if you go too high on lift.
Thanks

I had some 2.02 EQ heads. .030 over 5.9, 10.4:1 compression, 3.55 gears, 2800 stall, 3304 pounds, 91 pump gas, 750 cfm carb. I made 3 passes and was told to leave since I didn't have a helmet. Had a best of 12.88 at 104 MPH. Timing was only at 32 degrees and carburetor needed some tuning. I think there was a little more power to be had. It made 304 HP and 342 Ft/LBS at the wheels on a very hot 100+ degree day.

Hughes sells a valve spring and retainer kit that supposedly allows more lift without any machining. Swapping valve springs with the heads on isn't too bad of a job.

Thunder valley ??

Nope, Tulsa! Thunder valley has never had an issue with 12 second passes and no helmet. I've ran my BMW there several times and never heard a complaint. But Tulsa said anything faster than 13.99 required a helmet.
