I'm looking at converting my clutch to a hydraulic throw out bearing. Has anyone used a McLeod or a hydromax set up? Which is better? They appear to be similar. Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

I used a hydraulic bearing from Powertrain Technologies. It's similar to the American Powertrain unit. It's black instead of blue. Cost me about $311. Works great. Requires a diaphragm style clutch setup. The McLeod piece is more expensive.

my friend ran a mcleod, had a horrible time bleeding it as the darn thing was lower than the bearing. Got it to work finally but didnt like the clutch travel or the lack of feedback. He had to run a tranny brace from the M/C to the shock tower as the firewall was flexing.

I use the American Powertrain kit on my car. It all worked out well. Expensive but a nice kit.
