I have seen a lot of automotive fads come and go (vans,fart pipes, diesel trucks on idiotic wheels and tires blowing a crap load fo black smoke etc) and I shake my head and gripe about what i don't like. But I wonder if the rodders building from surplus aircraft parts,flat heads, model a's etc had the same gripes about the muscle-car crowd in the 60's and 70's.
Damn I hate the "rolling coal" with the ghost trailer crowd worse than the rice rockets with fart pipes. Get off my lawn kid!

I used to know a guy who built his first rod in high school shop class in 1930. His buddies all thought the Ford (flathead) V8 would be the death of hot rodding.
