He also say its a wedge 440 engine, i dont have any other details, thoughts? From what i can remember i dont recall any chrysler 300s with that style front end but im no expert.

I can't blow it up far enough to tell, but I think it says New Yorker on the quarter panel. If the passenger side ain't wiped out....the big ol boaty thing sure looks clean enough to save. Those things ride like a cloud!!

That is a 1968 three hundred, can you see the side marker lamps? I can see the VIN plate on top of the dash, 1967 has it in the door jamb.

Was it offered with a wedge 440 or just standard 440?

              All 440's are indeed Wedges, along with all 361's. 383's, 413's, 400's.

...and yes, that is a 1968 Chrysler 300, just like @413 said.

Wedge was just a nickname.....a 440 is a 440. Only difference would be if it's an HP 440.

It was a nickname based in reality. They got the nickname from the wedge shaped combustion chamber.

Wedge is a combustion chamber shape, as is a hemi.

Didn't they have both open and closed chamber heads? A desirable wedge head is the closed chamber 906 I believe it's known as.

Yes, but both style heads are wedges.

So whats the value on a car like that? Im assuming if its the hp 440 its worth a bit more. Im not sure how solid the car is, its been sitting for 5 years but the interior is supposed to be in about perfrct shape

Nope. '906's are open chamber wedge heads. Most made before that chronologically, such as '200 '915, '516, 518, (maxie) and '286 (maxie) were all closed chamber wedge heads.

IF it runs and drives 8 to 10 grand. You have to find a buyer that likes those huge land yachts.

Would have to say, the place to ask is over on FCBO, since thats where anyone who would want it would be. 440's are great, and I'm sure it has a somewhat desireable '727 trans and an 8-3/4 rear in it too. But, they are all cores if no one wants the body, so I'd say a couple thousand tops if you aren't into C bodies, since there no reason to believe a 4-door would have a magnum engine, trans is nothing special, and the rear is an open 2.76 gear I'd bet on it. It seems to be a 1968 300 based on the gills(?) between the front wheels & doors. 1968 440's came in 350HP and 375HP, but not sure which or if both were available in it. I have some rear wheel skirts for a '1968 LeBaron, but don't know if they interchange.

Yes the 440 HP was an option in that car. Check the numbers in the VIN and photo the fender tag and report back. Could have been robbed out of there long ago.
