Identifying 1969 Swinger

-
A 340 dart hardtop VIN is LM23 for swinger or LS23 for GTS.

According to a little white book they made 74435 1969 swinger cars without a 340, LL23 VIN

Not all swingers were 340 cars. Only way to identify one is by the trim package I believe.

That's what I was kinda trying to get to,
If it had a P or an H for 5th digit, its either 340 or 383 correct? So could it be narrowed down to either a Swinger or GTS?
Kinda like a 68 cuda. If it had a P in the vin it was not only a 340 car, but a Formula S.
Does that make sense?
No. Some 340 cars were GTS'. It's all about the VIN...

It's narrowed down before you ever get to engine size in the first 2 letters

Is it a 4-speed? It should have torque boxes. Automatic, maybe.

What is the full VIN? The GTS has metal badging on the hood, driver's side, front? Swinger says Dodge. Both hoods have the raised bumps that say 340 four barrel chrome inserts. Trunk lid back side has aluminum GTS trim. The Swinger says Dodge.
Google some pictures. Do not remember ever seeing in '69 a Swinger with anything other than a 340. Later years yes, but not '69. Again, this car may or may not have torque boxes with an automatic. The '69 Swinger was kinda like the first Road Runners, no frills , basic muscle car. GTX, fancy, Road Runner, cheap. GTS fancy, Swinger, cheap.

There were two Swingers in 1969 with different VIN price classes. LL is plain Swinger, no high perf engines available. LM is Swinger 340, a completely separate model based on price class.
