I just replaced my ignition switch in the 66 slant dart. Followed the online instructions, and was quite surprised when I went to pull out the key lock and 5 tiny springs and a thin metal strip go flying through the air. So this new Stan Motor Prd US50, has an extra terminal, that my original does not have. It is marked "Ground". The old pigtail still plugs onto it, but that ground terminal is not connected. Am I supposed to ground that thing ? I thought the ignition switch grounded through the bezel?? see picture of the new and old one.
the new one is tighter and solid. Other than that no change in function.

I have a 69 cuda ign switch with an extra ground tab as well.
If Del 67dart273 says run it as is, then that's what I would do.

If you wanted to, on your lock and tumblers you can remove all springs and tumblers and re-install. Down-side= you can now start your car with a key or a screwdriver.
