instrument voltage regulator

Morning....Wanting to replace my IVR since I noticed my gauges move to the right the other day. Would prefer to go solid state plug and play. Does anyone have a part number and who supplies said part? Have a great day and stay safe.....Ric

Neither are a drop in replacement for a rally dash. You need to do some mods. There are a bunch of threads on this.

I have used both of the ones in pictures below. They are both from Amazon. One is adjustable & one is fixed 5 volts. These are easier to use than a 7805 if you are not good at soldering.

I have a IV3 from RTE was going to use but wound up replacing the circuit board with the built in Regulator. PM if interested.

I have used the LM7805 and Tobsun with good results, but keep in mind you get short circuit protection with the rt-eng.com solution. Also, the rt-eng.com solution is not a linear regulator, but rather a switching circuit similar to the original mechanical IVR. They did some great engineering design with their solution and it's worth every penny.

I did this a while back and could have sworn that all I needed to do was bend the little arm inside the fuel gauge back so it would no longer make contact. Then all I needed was to make a little wire jumper that connected onto the IVR spade connection and had a ring terminal on the other end of the jumper that went on the back side of the fuel gauge mounting post.

Also I think if your fuel gauge internal IVR isn't working, then all you need to do is connect the IVR to the post and you're off and running.

You have to add it to your cart to see prices. $50 plus tax & shipping for the one I looked at. Seems kind of scam-ish to me not posting prices, but I guess that is the new world.

I understand the attraction if you have a car you can just plug one into. But for a rally dash where you have to haywire it in anyway, seems like a lot of money to a cheapskate like me when there are cheaper options.
