    So I have my 66 Barracuda insured with my standard Geico policy and realize that if it gets stolen or wrecked I'll get squat for it since the go strictly on age when valuing cars. I estimate the car is worth 8-10k and is a weekend/ errand driver garage stored. Any advice or testimonials on classic car insurance companies?

    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

    American Collectors Car Insurance.
    My 70 Dart has an agreed upon value of 30k as a weekend driver for $200.00 per year.

    1 thing though, you have to have other cars. If someone has the Collector Car only you will not qualify. Just a heads up. Also every year they want an Odometer Reading. You just tell them what it is. Right now mine is Broke and needs fixing. I paid the premium without telling them and they accepted payment and my policy is in affect.

    I have used JC Taylor for 20 some years- reasonable and very well organized- stated value policy- Never had a claim thought to testify about claim service.......

    I have Grundy on all my cars and motorcycle as follows;

    64 Barracuda 17,000
    65 Signet 5,000
    77 Truck 5,000
    72 Sportster 5,000

    Total is 231 a year, the only stipulation is they all have to be garaged. There is no odometer reading, unlimited pleasure driving, and if I buy another car I can just call them, tell them the make model and vin and I can get a transfer to home insurance wether I drive it or tow it.

    Have had Hagerty for ever, now I have a 99 Corvette, 1972 Demon 340, 1974 Scamp, total values of $40,000 and runs around $500.00 /year. Had a claim once on my 69 RR and they handled it quickly.:cheers:

    I you were once a SeaBee, you might also want to check into USAA. They cater to military and former military and are an excellent company for all type of insurance.
    Thanks, Mark

    I have American Collector and have had for several years now and they are very easy to deal with, mine is $13500 with no deductible for $120 a year. My other vehicles are with Alfa, I checked with them and it was over $300 per year with a 2500 mile limit.

    "I you were once a SeaBee" No but I am in the Navy, for almost 20 years now. But USAA does not do the old cars.

    It took a little bit of searching but I found out that USAA does classic car insurance but the "never leave in parking lot unattended" clause seams a bit much. I have my homeowner's insurance through them too.
