anyone ever drilled and tapped their intake in the rear where the intake covers the rear cooling ports in the head? then routed the ports via tubes to the thermostat boss, under the stat itself? My thoughts are ive seen it done on a couple bowtie engines in sand-dragsters that a couple of my buddies run. edelbrock actually makes an intake for the chebbies thats already tapped to the rear cooling ports, and upon installation the installer runs 2 lines, one from each port, to the thermostat casting boss, below the stat. they both claim 10-25 degrees cooler operating temps on a 13.5:1 tree-fiddy and a 14:1 383 stroker. wondering if anyone has done something similar to a Mopar smallblock and has seen similar results. figured if its worth an evening of machining and building pipes, it might be worth it.
