Going through a 727 and have everything ready for final assembly.
But it seems like the rear drum shouldn't be resting directly on top of the sprag without a washer or spacer of some sort (picture attached).
This is a tranny we got from an RV but not known if it was in drivable condition at the time it was pulled. It just seems like it will grind on the sprag if I drop it in as is.
I have tried hard to find the answer myself through books and online before resorting to posting here with what might seem like a stupid question!
Hope this makes sense.

nope, no washer of any kind at that location.

Thanks for the reply! I just finished reading a couple more long tranny build threads which also confirmed that along with a couple other things. I feel ready for final assembly now! Then cleaning valve body and installing Transgo TF-2 kit.
