Today we fit the other inner fender top section, ready to weld. Cleaned and painted the inside of a fresh set of fenders and set them on the car temporarily.
Aaron has some metal inbound. He is starting to cut the rot off the quarters to determine what can stay..
Well with school looming in the fall and a cool 74 Honda XL350 he also owns taking up his time, he found it impossible to pass on an offer her got for the Dart. Happy to have him with me when I go to cruise ins with Our Duster.
And the 70 Javelin we bought last week was delivered to the office! I’ll get involved with this one so we’ll get it done!
So all I know about this car is it’s a 304 V8 with column shift automatic. Front left suspension is missing and the left side rear spring is broken. The body is straight but hit on the right quarter and beyond rotted in some spots. the plan is to get up on blocks, pull the engine, trans fuel tank and all the suspension. Then strip it and get on casters and send it out to be media blasted.
This one took 8 years but it came out pretty good! The Javelin is a bit more rough than the Duster but not much!
There is a guy on eBay selling complete nicely rebuilt AMC 360s for $3700. So we are saving the mounts and brackets and stripping this block down just to have since it’s original to the car. This old thing is rough, but I can save it….
At least parts are fairly easy to find for the Duster, you had better buy the parts for the AMC when you find them, they are few and far between.
