I recently installed a new fuel cell in my Dart as I went from a plastic one to aluminum, I needed a longer -8 return line to go from my Product Engineering fuel pump to the return fitting on the cell as it was in a different location on the new cell. I called Jegs and ordered a 48 inch -8 braided line. When I started the car for the first time the fitting was leaking by the pump, I loosened it and retightened it and it still leaked. I went to my local speed shop and had a new hose made at double the cost of the Jegs one but it had Russel fittings . I should have just done that in the first place. The shop owner told me the hose and fittings are Chinese knock offs they look just like Russel or Earls but have not manufacturers marking. I installed the new hose and have no leaks. Jegs was good about returning the bad hose for a refund and gave me a tag for shipping back at no cost. The moral is buy the good stuff even if it costs more especially when it comes to a fuel line.

I have run plenty of the Summit hose, its just re branded ( name brand stuff ). I just buy the bulk and make my own hoses.

I've never had trouble with Jegs or Summit line and fittings. I make all my own hoses. Fragola fittings are good also.

A friend of mine had a Fragola oil line leak, he got oil on the slicks and just about wrecked his car. Replaced the hose with another on , and had no problems. When he got home he checked the fittings, and told me the fitting was not 37 degrees, that is why it didn't seal.

I have come to the same conclusion. I am gradually replacing all my braided rubber hose with teflon. It seems to be bulletproof, and last ten times longer than the rubber. Im lucky enough to have a line and fitting specialist shop local (Bonaco) that makes anything i want, cheaper than i can make it.

I never have had issues with Earl's, Russell, or Aeroquip fittings. Never had an issue with any brand of braided hose. However, Jegs and Summit fittings are pure junk IMHO. Fragola is almost as bad. (and Fragola is a US company right here in Connecticut. No so good.)

I have been pushing to buy USA made products on here for years and to stay away from the cheap off shore crap.
Even today it is amazing how much push back I get.

Well if they like threads that don't screw together, threads that gall, sealing angles that don't seal, and hose ends that leak, they will keep buying the Chinesium and get what they pay for. Oh yeah, I forgot inferior materials that sometimes cause huge leaks at just the wrong time!

Hmm, never any problems with Fragola, made up various trans to cooler lines etc and fuel lines myself. Ymmv

I simply call Orme Bros out here in the west.... good products that will work.

I've had summit/jegs brand braided fuel logs on my cars for 7-8 years now without any issues. I just redid half of my fuel line since I changed headers and needed to reroute away from the heat. I used Jegs brand line and fittings and didn't have any leaks on start up.
