Spring relocation. Not fully tubbed. at least as of this moment...in my thought process.
is it like with the A bodies, that all you get is 1/2 inch per side? or do you get a little more real estate for your effort here?
Interesting thread, I just found it. Subscribed. Good to see a later 70 model Mopar getting a new lease on life!!
I have a 10.5 tire in my dart...This is a boxed relocation kit. not just offset shackles hangers. I think i got more than 1/2 inch...but i'm only 26 inch tall tires too. On this car. i measure i'll gain 2.5 inches. If i jacked it up, or went short tire, and folded the pinch seam.. i have 4.5 to the frame rails. IDk..maybe once i start cutting for the spring relo, it'll seem like a dumb idea to not open up the wheel wells. I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel on the trunk hinges though.
2.5 inches would be worth it But then again..I saw what happened when you were given a simple task like swapping a bumper
It'll probably be a chromoly tube chassis by the time its done
Better keep that camera rolling, this I want to see
Custom seat brackets made from some old junk sliders. And working on swapping the taillights to the Plymouth versions. Of course the inner tail panels are different...more custom BS. Lol
The graphics on that trunk lid rock You should keep it
New video! went a little shorter so i don't bounce around as much! still working on sound quality but i'm getting there!
Word on the street is they are actually identical to a major name brand, that are assembled overseas, opposed to brought to CA and assembled. Not sure yet. Wish I could spend $600 a turbo, but that isn't happening.
800hp goal still? 72s Might be a little big. Step down a little on the compressor size and get some response back. A good set of 72s can make 1500 plus hp. The car will be more fun and less peaky on the street with smaller turbos and still make your goal power wise. Great job on the videos btw.
Thanks, I have had more than one company recommend the 62-78 but I'm far from an expert. Is the TT in your screen name "twin turbo?" Open to your experiences if so! Thanks!
Yes I have a twin turbo 5.9 46re combo with factory fuel injection with megasquirt piggybacking it and twin 62s. Junkyard 2001 5.9 with 91,000 miles. I gapped the rings, lapped the valves, and had a cam cut by a friend at comp. it’s fun. It’s out of the car now cause the car needs a roof but it makes gobs of power everywhere. My daily driver is a big block Chevy with a garret gt60 remote mount that made 705 to the tire. I also just finished a Honda j35 v6 with a single 68mm on an aem infinity that’s going in my 63 falcon. That engine made 630hp on e85 on very little (13lbs) boost. Any help I can give is all yours.
Headliner "dyed" and by "dyed"...I mean painted with a roller and satin rustoleum. Still drying
Following . Looks nice to have some big body room !
Do tell, what tires are you using that are 10.5 X 26? TIA
On the dart? I have a 26 tall, 10.5 wide Mickey Thompson. It fits with a spring relocation, and a 10 inch wheel. I folded a pinch seam, and trimmed the fender lip. Want to say I have 7 inches of Backspacing. On this car....spring relocation. Possible mini tub. By my definition, would be opening the wheel tubs to the frame rail. Honestly looks like I can jam a 15 inch wide tire in there. God love B bodies...
I’ll more than likely follow your lead on the tire width and fitment for my Magnum. I also want to go the route your taking, spring relocation, sub frame connectors, etc... I have factory wheels I’d like to widen.
Ready for primer and paint!!
Over at a buddies for cage, ties, spring relocation, patch in the roof and trunk!
Unloading at Gearheads Garage in Ohio! I have shoulder surgery tomorrow. So wanted to make sure something was getting done on it. Cage, frame ties, spring relocation, possible minitub. And a roof and trunk patch.
Great progress! What's the surgery for? Good luck on the surgery man.
