If purchasing a V8 K-Frame for a 1970 A-Body, is there a measurement I can use to know whether a loose V8 K-frame is from an A-Body or a Larger Chrysler B or E Body?
There are some differences, but if I had a width measurement for an A-Body K-Frame that might save a lot of time.
(No, this is not a Want Ad. I am not in the market to buy an A-Body K-frame)
Schumacher gives the following
Mopar K-Member ID Guide

'67-72 A-Body K-Member

KMember_A67_V8.jpg

68-72 B-Body (66-67 has different idler arm mount), 70-74 E-body

I believe E-Body mounting holes are 14" front to back and 34" side to side.

If you look up the chassis guides showing the dimensions, you'll be able to see them

Just under 32" wide it looks like for an A body which seems about right

drivers side engine mount stand on the other stuff overlaps the steering box mount. A body is in front.

better pic than what I looked it. I had thought it was 31.92, good catch.

EDIT: I checked again to see where I messed up but the drawing for a 67 actually says the center to center for the k frame mounting holes is slightly over 32 at 32-1/8 wide. 67 through 76 should all be the same mounting points. Engine mounts of course change but we're not talking about that here.

Looking at the drawing from the FSM, those lines aren't lined up with the holes so I'm wondering of they are referencing something else?

I'll measure my 73 k-frame when I get home .

My mistake, I'll update the illustration.

I didn't say the illustration was wrong, I said it "appears" to not align with the bolt holes like every other illustration I've seen. So it's possible the FSM is referencing something other than the bolt holes.

EDIT: Removed my unwarranted sarcasm. Been a day so I apologize.

In all seriousness was that other image from a B-Body? I did notice it had reference for a wagon.

Yes, it was the B-Body

When I zoomed in to do the screen capture I didn't realize it shifted to a different diagram.

Double checked against my k-fame and mounting holes are indeed, around 32.2 side to side, and just over 12 front to back

Thank you both. Appreciate the center to center bolt hole measurements.
I was considering buying a 1970 slant 6 Dart a while back, but passed.
With those measurements and pics from Schumacher in hand, I should be able select a correct K-frame and to convert a slant-6 to V8 if and when I run into a situation where the slant-6 car isn't too rusty. Hard on the East Coast.

I personally would look for a spool type k frame. Better mounts but you'll need proper sway bar and possibly steering arms? Not 100% sure on steering parts it's been a while.

I do like spool frame better but this just got listed not too far from you.KH brakes too. Road trip?

Appreciate the find, but I did not buy the 1970 Dart. That was a while ago. I was looking for info.
