I have a 318 in my 67 valiant and it keeps going throw distributors. I have had.to replace it 5 times with-in two years. WHY? that afw Autozone distributors by the way. any help please

What goes wrong with them? Does the pick up quit? perhaps you have a wiring issue. There really isnt much to go wrong in a distributor....

stop throwing them around and they may last longer. :)

what going wrong with them. there isn't too much to them to actually go bad.

You may have some issue with something like.......................

Maybe a POS is in the bottom of the oil pump drive hex, and is holding the drive gear "up" too far, causing thrust wear?

Bad intermediate gear bushing?

Some misalignment/ damage to the intermediate gear?

And as others have said, just what is going wrong with them?

Also, rebuilts were never all that great, and now that "you can't buy" the old school Mopar distributor bushing kit anymore, they might just be all that much worse.
